This is a typical battery farm setup. Cages are stacked in rows on top of one another to maximize space. Attached to the front of the cages are the food troughs. Notice the slanted wire floors the chickens have to stand on. The wire serves a dual purpose, the first of which is to allow excrement to pass through the floor. The second use is to provide an angle so that the eggs roll out into the collection tray where they can quickly be collected by employees without having to interact with the chickens.
