      In this fury of feathers and flesh it is difficult to ascertain how many bids have been crammed into this cage. What is evident is that these chickens have endured more than any creature should have to. The bird’s necks have been rubbed raw from protruding their heads through the bars, struggling for that ever illusive extra space. Their breasts are raw from frustrating attempts at dust bathing in their cages which only serves to scrape away their feathers and their wing plumage is thin from mutilation by themselves and others; a scenario which is unheard of in natural environments.
