      Here is a complete freshwater mussel that I have chosen to use for a demonstration. Objectors to the claims made here may say that these creatures were dead prior to being dumped on land considering that a number of these pictures illustrate already open shells. This mussel is intact which means the organism itself should be located inside. The next picture illustrates the results after opening the shell.
