      This turtle was surely visible above the dirt after dredging given that it is standing on end. It could have been collected rather than left. Because this turtle remains in this position I feel it is evident that these creatures did not even have a chance to fend for themselves. If the opposite were true then this turtle would have righted itself in a last ditch effort to return to safety.
