It would be easy to say that my response to this event is out of proportion. Some who utterly dismiss the interests of other animals may well say, though not correctly, that they are just mussels and turtles. However, what do we want our legacy as humanity to be? I would like to think that our actions would demonstrate the best traits of humanity. The most supreme principle our actions could exemplify would be the respect and appreciation of all life. These images demonstrate no such example. In time, it is my hope that our actions demonstrate more than disdain and destruction..
