These little guys are the larvae of the bee moth (wax moth) and are dubbed wax worms. Anglers, however, have found that many fish are attracted to this type of worm and are popular among anglers trying to catch panfish. Though popular among anglers, wax moth larvae are the foe of beekeepers everywhere. If a bee moth lays her eggs in a hive they will develop into these larvae and use the honeycomb for food thus destroying the hive.
