These lures have spinners that are also meant to reflect light as would the side of a minnow, but they have many angles across their surface. This is so light will reflect at a wider variety of angles thus attracting more fish. The long rubber skirts on these lures create the allusion of movement while being reeled through the water. They also are easily pushed aside by a fish allowing the hook to penetrate flesh unimpeded.
