- Jay Leno - "I read this in the paper today, economic experts say that the mad cow scare could lower the price of meat around the country at meat counters. What's the thinking here? People going, 'You know, I'm not going to risk dying of a horrible, nightmarish death of a brain disease that rots my mind, unless you knock a couple of bucks off the price."
- Author Unknown - "I'm not a vegetarian because I love animals, it's because I hate vegetables!"
- Author Unknown - "People are more violently opposed to fur than leather because it's safer to harass rich women than motorcycle gangs."
- Author Unknown - "I think animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers."
- Author Unknown - "Conserve a hunter, harvest one today."
- Harvey Diamond (author) - "You put a baby in a crib with an apple and a rabbit. If it eats the rabbit and plays with the apple, I'll buy you a new car."
- Gary L. Francione - In the acknowledgements for Gary L. Francione’s book Introduction to Animal Rights – Your Child or the Dog?, he thanks his "nonhuman family" who he states "have made it clear to me that wondering about whether animals can think, or whether they are self conscience, or whether they have an emotional range very similar to ours, is on a level with wondering about whether other humans have these characteristics. We may not be able to prove with absolute certainty that animals have these characteristics, just as we cannot prove with certainty that human minds are alike. But it may come as good news to those who seriously entertain doubts about either matter that the Flat Earth Society accepts new members." [1]
