Disclaimer: A Word About This List

It is not my intention by providing this list to reduce veganism to a vegan/non-vegan dichotomy. Lists can serve to alienate because they tend to force people into thinking that you cannot be vegan unless you follow a strict adherence to a particular set of guidelines. The last thing I want is to have such a negative effect on viewers of this information.

I have chosen to provide this brewery listing because I had concerns about beer, not because I think everyone should. As a vegan, my personal choice was to exclude a beer if it utilized animal products in its manufacture or ingredients and to avoid products offered by companies that contribute to animal exploitation (such as Anheuser-Busch owning SeaWorld and Busch Gardens). It occurred to me early on, that if I were to compile this information it may be useful to other vegans with similar guidelines.

I am not part of the vegan police and you are not under arrest. If your type of veganism doesn’t embrace all of the things excluded by this list then garnish what info you can from these pages and discard the rest. Again, these are my guidelines and I do not intend to pressure anyone into adopting them.

Even those with different criteria can use this list effectively, that is why I have included the comment section of the table. It includes other information that may be pertinent in someone’s decision on whether to drink a particular type of beer.

You say your vegan but don’t worry about beer, or that you have different guidelines; I still consider you vegan and friend. So pull out a stool and belly up to the bar. Cheers!
