Concerns: Used grain is sent to a farmer to be used as feed for livestock. [43, 44]
Correspondance: 6/16/03, 6/26/03, 6/26/03 "Thanks for your inquiry on our beer ingredients. The raw materials used in our brewing process do not contain any animal products. In our kettle, we use a clarifying agent that is based on seaweed. Another common clarifying agent in cask conditioned beer is derived from the swim bladders of a species of fish. We do not employ this agent in our process." [42] "We send the waste products to a farmer who uses it as animal feed." [43] "I had a follow up phone call with the farmer that takes our grain. He confirmed that it is used for animal feed. The animals are then slaughtered to produce meat products." [44]

Concerns: All beers are vegan except Mad Elf which is a seasonal beer containing honey. The brewery's used grain is used as feed by a farmer. [57]
Correspondance: 11/10/03 "nothing has been harmed in the brewing of our beer. We don't use any animal products (as far as I know) in any of them. The old school fining ways have been replaced with Irish moss and other plant alternatives in most breweries. We are using honey in our holiday beer Mad Elf. The rest are just Hops, Water, Barley, Yeast, Oats and sometimes Malted Wheat. Our spent grain is used for cattle feed at the moment and our spent whole flower hops are used as compost. If you have any other specific questions I would be happy to discuss them..As well as if you have any ideas as to how to incorporate your ideals we are always willing to listen." [57]
