Gelding
This is a male horse that has had his testicles removed (orchiectomy). [40] [ Equine ]

An acronym, Greenwich Mean Time, is the standard used to indicate universal world time. [66] [ Pigeon ]
Goat Dressing
This event is specific to “gay rodeo” and involves two contestants (Contestants A & B in this example). To begin, a goat is tied up in an arena so that he cannot get away. Contestant B wears a pair of “jockey-style underwear” on his forearms. Both contestants start fifty feet away from where the goat is restrained. When the event begins, both run into the arena and Contestant A straddles the goat (facing the rear) and lifts the goat’s hind legs to Contestant B who in turn grabs the goat’s feet. Contestant A then pulls the underwear from the forearms of Contestant B onto the goat’s legs. The underwear must stay over the goat’s tail bone until both contestants run past the line from which they started. [54] The fastest time wins. Events such as this demonstrate that a rodeo is not purely an institution of tradition. [ Rodeo ]
Grade Animal (Horse)
A grade animal is one which cannot be clearly demarcated by breed. That is, the animal did not come from any specific breed. Horses and ponies considered grade animals have a variety of characteristics and vary in size and color. In the Equine world they are used for an array of different purposes unlike other horses which are generally bred for a particular activity. [25] [ Equine ]
Grass(ing)
This slang term is sometimes used to describe the act of being an informant to police or other authorities. This can be done willingly or by breaking under the pressure of interrogation. If someone chooses to grass out other activists they can be ostracized from the animal rights movement. Simply, someone who has allowed themselves to be bent by the will of “authorities” on one occasion will likely break under pressure again should the situation arise. Grassing leads to more activists being harassed and/or incarcerated than would normally be if we simply said nothing.[57] [ Animal Rights ]
Grit
A combination of materials that pigeons need to consume in order to help break their food down through abrasion. [66] [ Pigeon ]
Grunt
A sound made by a male deer which indeed sounds similar to a low pitched pig grunt. It is not known why deer produce a grunt call, but hunters use man made grunt calls to aid in killing individual deer. A grunt call can lure a deer closer or cause a deer to pause while walking or running, allowing a hunter a better chance to kill it. Some hunters have also successfully used grunt calls to lure wild bores in for a kill. [ Hunting ]
Gut
To “gut” a deer is to remove its organs. See also Field Dress. [ Hunting ]
Gut Shot
A animal that is “gut shot” has been shot in an area of her internal organs that is lethal, but not immediately so. Lethality in this case depends of the size of the animal shot and the size of the wound. Smaller animals die more quickly because a rifle shot causes more damage than it would on a deer or elk. Usually a “gut shot” involves the stomach and/or intestines. [ Hunting ]
